Starting Over After Hurricane Melissa

When Hurricane Melissa struck Jamaica, I never imagined I’d spend hours standing in my bathroom, knee-deep in sewage water, praying my house wouldn’t collapse. But that’s exactly what happened.

The roof was torn off, the entire house flooded, and the ceiling in my room caved in. Everything I worked for was destroyed. I lost nearly everything — but I’m still thankful to be alive.

What breaks me most is that my closest friend, the one who helped me for years when I had nowhere else to go, also lost his entire home in the storm. After everything he’s done for me, I’m heartbroken that I can’t even help him now.

I’m starting this fundraiser to rebuild — not just my home, but hope itself. Every contribution will go toward repairing the damage, replacing essentials, and helping my friend find shelter again.
